Terms & Conditions

1. About Soho Sumo

SohoSumo is owned and operated by Jesse Rees (“SohoSumo”, “we”, “us”, “our”), who is the supplier of the services described in these Terms.

We work with Marketta Global Ltd (company number 15141757, registered office 50 Christchurch Road, Ringwood, Hants, United Kingdom BH24 1DW) on marketing, partnerships and commercial development. Marketta Global Ltd is not a party to these Terms and does not supply the services.

You can contact us at team@sohosumo.com.

2. Our services

The Soho Sumo Launch Package is a done-for-you launch service for early-stage businesses. The package currently includes:

  • Foundations. Registration or transfer of one domain name, and set-up of a Google Workspace account and mailbox on that domain.
  • Brand. Brand identity development covering name, colours, voice and story; a logo supplied as SVG, PNG, JPG and print-ready PDF; and a brand guidelines document.
  • Positioning. Messaging development and review, a competitor scan, a recommended page structure, and selection of photography for the site.
  • Website. Three design directions to choose from, written content for each page, a complete website of up to five pages built to your approval, hosting with Cloudflare, and the ability to edit the site without code. Additional pages can be added and will be quoted separately.
  • Search. On-site SEO and AEO structure, and verification with Google.
  • Growth. Set-up of a Google Business Profile, plus a ranking page and an advertising landing page.
  • After launch. A dashboard showing enquiries, site status and indexing; consolidated enquiry delivery; and hosting, edits and support for twelve months.

The launch package includes a website of up to five pages. Additional pages, and any other work outside the list above, will be quoted and agreed with you separately in writing. The precise deliverables, number of revisions, timescales and any additional services will be confirmed with you in writing before work begins. Where a deliverable depends on a third party — for example Google verifying a Business Profile, or a registrar releasing a domain — we will carry out the work required of us, but we cannot guarantee that third party's decision or timing.

Some deliverables may be produced with the assistance of automated or AI-based tools. All such material is reviewed by us and provided to you for approval before use.

We may refuse or pause work where we reasonably believe a requested activity is unlawful, misleading, harmful, outside our capabilities, or outside the agreed scope.

3. Pricing and payment

The launch package is priced at £379 one-off plus £25 per month for twelve months, unless otherwise agreed in writing. All prices stated are inclusive of VAT where VAT applies.

After the first twelve months, the £25 monthly plan continues on a rolling monthly basis and can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice.

What the monthly plan covers. While the monthly plan is active, website hosting, security and maintenance updates, your dashboard, enquiry delivery, reasonable ongoing edits to the site and technical support are included at no extra cost.

What is not included. Any other third-party costs are payable by you directly to the provider concerned. These include domain registration and renewal, your Google Workspace subscription, advertising spend, paid plugins, premium fonts, stock or commissioned photography, and any external services or software subscriptions, unless expressly stated in writing.

Reasonable use. Ongoing edits mean changes to the content, images and pages of your existing site. Building additional major features, replacing the site with a new design, or work of a scale comparable to a fresh build is not covered by the monthly plan; we will quote for it separately and agree it with you in writing first.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate information, checking content before publication, ensuring you have rights to any materials you provide, and making final business decisions about your idea, offer, pricing, legal structure and compliance obligations.

Because much of the package is produced for your approval, we also rely on you to respond within a reasonable time. Where approvals or information are outstanding, timescales may move accordingly.

We do not carry out trade mark searches or provide legal advice on names, logos or brand assets. Before you begin trading under a name or mark we produce, you are responsible for satisfying yourself that it is available for you to use, and for obtaining professional advice if you need it. A Google Business Profile is subject to Google's own eligibility and verification requirements, which you are responsible for meeting.

You must not provide content that infringes another person’s rights, is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate for publication.

5. No guarantee of business success

We aim to help you make better early decisions and create a more credible launch foundation. We do not guarantee that your business will succeed, obtain customers, rank in search engines, be recommended by AI tools, generate enquiries, or achieve any specific commercial result.

6. Website content and approvals

Where we create or edit website copy, design, brand assets or other materials, you are responsible for reviewing and approving them before use. Once approved, you accept responsibility for the accuracy and suitability of the published content.

7. Relationship of the parties

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, employment or fiduciary relationship between SohoSumo, Jesse Rees, Marketta Global Ltd and you, beyond what is expressly stated.

8. Intellectual property

Our platform. The SohoSumo platform — the software, source code, systems, tools, templates, methods, processes, prompts, know-how, designs and documentation we use to deliver the services — is and remains the sole property of Jesse Rees, together with all intellectual property rights in it. Nothing in these Terms transfers any interest in it to you or to anyone else.

Your material. Anything you give us — your content, data, images and existing brand assets — stays yours.

Your deliverables. Once all fees have been paid in full, the copyright in the final approved materials we produce specifically for your business (your website content, your logo and brand assets, your written deliverables) is assigned to you, to use in your business without restriction.

What is not included. That assignment does not cover our platform, or any generic or pre-existing tools, templates, methods, processes, software, code libraries, fonts, stock assets, unselected draft concepts or internal working files. Where any of these is embedded in your deliverables, you have a perpetual, royalty-free licence to keep using it as part of those deliverables.

Your domain and email. Your domain name and Google Workspace account are registered in your name and paid by you directly to the provider. We take no ownership of either and add no margin to either.

9. Additional services

Beyond the launch package, we offer further services including marketing planning, advertising management, content and email marketing, additional website pages, online booking and e-commerce, telephony, print and signage artwork, and photography. None of these is included in the launch package or the monthly plan.

Each is quoted for the specific job and agreed with you in writing before work begins. Some are charged one-off and some monthly; we will confirm which applies before you commit. Additional monthly services are billed separately from your launch plan and can be cancelled independently of it, on the notice period agreed for that service.

10. Third-party services

We may recommend or help configure third-party services such as domain registrars, email providers, website hosts, form handlers, analytics tools or software platforms. These services are provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms, pricing, privacy policies and service levels.

Services we resell. Some services, including business telephony, are supplied by a third-party provider and resold by us. Where that is the case, the underlying service, its availability and its technical performance remain the responsibility of that provider, and your use of it is subject to their terms, which we will make available to you before you sign up. We will tell you when a service is being resold rather than delivered by us directly. We are not a telecommunications provider, and resold telephony services are not intended to be relied on for emergency calls; you should always keep an alternative means of contacting the emergency services.

11. Cancellation

You may cancel the monthly rolling plan after the initial twelve-month commitment by giving 30 days’ notice. The initial one-off launch fee and twelve-month monthly commitment are not automatically refundable once work has started, except where required by law or agreed in writing.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website or our services.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
